10 Worst Video Games Of 2024
8. Concord
With a gobsmacking $400 million budget and an eight-year development, it was assumed Concord would bring something new to the table. Sadly, the poor reception of Firewalk Studios' FPS led to abysmal sales, the foreclosure of the company, and the game itself becoming defunct.
But is Concord as godawful as its reputation suggests?
Honestly, no... but it wasn't good either. The gameplay and mechanics are competent but there's next-to-nothing that separates this doomed project from any other hero shooter (at least, not in a good way). The maps are lazy, the movement of the characters is sluggish, and the ensemble's aesthetic is either over-designed or forgettably plain.
However, the sci-fi blaster's biggest problem is its lack of identity. With the industry saturated with live-service multiplayer shooters, Concord needed to do something to stand out.
But since it was never apparent what it was selling itself as, nobody had any incentive to give it a go. As such, it was no surprise to hear Concord couldn't reach 700 concurrent players during its laughably brief stint.
It's not the worst entry of the year, but Concord might be the most mishandled video game in history.
