10 Worst Video Games Of The Last Decade

6. Aliens: Colonial Marines

Rambo the Video Game
Sega

The premise of Aliens: Colonial Marines was one of the most exciting ideas for a shooter the gaming world had seen for a while. The idea of, not only canonically bringing back huge Aliens fan favourite Corporal Dwane Hicks, but having him fight both human AND Xenomorph enemies had fans' mouths watering more than any alien's ever could. So where did it all go so wrong?

Despite the team of Gearbox at the helm, famous for the punchy Borderlands series, the developers made the choice to outsource Colonial Marines and focus on... Duke Nukem Forever. As we saw, that ended oh so well for the boys and girls at Gearbox.

Whilst fans were ready to move on from the Duke, the prospect of retreading the Alienverse but with the player at the head led to hype that multple outsourced developers couldn't keep up with. Ugly graphics, boring gameplay and woeful AI design which made the Xenomorph threat seem more like a blooper reel from a Robot Chicken sketch.

Fans were left bitterly disappointing, so much so that a lawsuit incurred from some fans for false advertising; a true indictment to why this belongs on this list.
