10 Worst WWE Video Games Ever

9. WWE All Stars

08 WWE All Stars Following the trend of experimentation gone wrong, WWE All Stars is the most recent game on the list to fall into the trap. Perhaps not learning from the failed ridiculousness of In Your House, All Stars made a return to the nature of those games, complete with over the top moves and jacked up versions of the WWE roster. The premise was good, pitting stars of the past against the current roster but the execution was less than stellar. Again, it was more akin to a beat em up than a wrestling game and played in a similar way to the disappointing "Face Breaker" in which EA attempted to do the same for boxing. This meant that nonsense combos and over the top moves were the order of the day. It was basically the Smackdown series on steroids, with all of the technicality taken away. While the simplified controls and fast paced gameplay might have been better for casuals it actually worked against the game in being much TOO simple. Additionally, besides the normal one on one match it was incredibly light on other gameplay modes meaning that once you mastered the two-button control scheme there was barely anything else to enjoy especially considering it was released as a full priced title at the same time a full SmackDown game was readily available. It was fun for a while and the pre match montages were almost worth playing alone but on reflection, it was not much more than reliant on nostalgia to lure players in.
