10 Xbox Achievements That Were Actually Stupidly Satisfying

6. Ten Minutes Later... €“ The Secret Of Monkey Island: Special Edition

Guybrush Threepwood is one of gaming's most memorable heroes. Equal parts brave and stupid, he's full of great one-liners (learning lines for Insult Sword Fighting leads to some of the most hilariously stupid line combinations possible) and though he may be somewhat reluctant at times, he always manages to come through and save the day.

Guybrush has very few skills that qualify him to become a Mighty Pirate though. One skill he does possess is the ability to hold his breath underwater; for ten minutes to be precise. The Xbox 360 version of the game, a remastered Special Edition, takes full advantage of this by rewarding you for masterminding the murder of everyone's favourite Threepwood.

There's only one way to kill Guybrush in the original Monkey Island and that's to leave him anchored to the bottom of the ocean for ten minutes. It's a long wait for one achievement but it's pretty funny that LucasArts actually allowed us to test Guybrush's breath holding brag.

It might make you feel bad to drown the hero but afterwards you can simply reload the save, making the whole incident disappear and leaving you 10GS richer. Feels good to fully escape your crimes, doesn't it?

I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
