26. The Ports That Never Were

The Chronicles games are some of the few Resident Evil spin-offs to receive ports. Whilst the likes of Survivor, Dead Aim and Outbreak are trapped on their original hardware, the Wii on-rails shooters made their way to the PlayStation 3 five years later in 2012 with PlayStation Move functionality. However, apparently they were considered for at least one more port.

In an episode of the Complete Global Saturation podcast, industry insider and author of Itchy, Tasty: An Unofficial History of Resident Evil Alex Aniel, rather unexpectedly made mention that the games were at one point considered for Nintendo Switch but these never went ahead.

With the Switch being the rare system that still uses motion controls, outside of a mouse pointer PC port, it's one of the few places these games could land with minimal redesign.

It's entirely possible that they still happen one day, considering that the Switch 2 functions much in the same way as the original console.
