Sometimes, a game receives an unfairly low score from users, not because of its quality, but because of its exclusivity.

Gamers get so hyped to play a certain title, they became heartbroken when they learn it will only be available on certain platforms. In situations like this, games can be review-bombed by users out of pure pettiness. It happened to Borderlands 3. It happened to Final Fantasy: Pixel Remaster. And it happened to Metro Exodus.

One week before the Metro sequel was released, it was suddenly decided not to release it on Steam despite being advertised on Stadia. Even though every Steam owner who had ordered the game got their money back, a lot of people gave Metro Exodus low ratings on gaming critic sites to jeopardise its sales.

Even though it was released on Steam later that year, the first-person shooter is still perceived with disdain by many. This is a shame since Exodus is arguably the best entry in the Metro trilogy, due to its focus on atmosphere, tension, and story, while the previous entries had a more " guns-blazing" style.

Now that Exodus is available on most platforms, there's no reason not to check it out.
