Escape from the City (Sonic Adventure 2)

A turn of the century Sega game wouldn't be a turn of the century Sega game without an incredulous but winsomely non-cynical soft-rock soundtrack, and Sonic Adventure 2 was no exception. This track from Crush 40, which played over the first level of the game as Sonic speeds through a San Francisco-style city, almost saves a sequel rife with more glitches and design floors than even its wonky predecessor. Pure, non-self-conscious cheesy fun. Original track: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z6NaZrPQGfY But even better is this fantastic cover in which a violin mimics the melody.
