Double Helix's - now Iron Galaxy's - resurrection of Rare's 90s era fighter has carved out a comfortable home for itself as an Xbox One console exclusive.

Half a decade after launch, Killer Instinct's popularity shows no signs of abating, thanks, in no small part, to its adoptive developer consistently expanding the once slim roster and barebones single-player content into the content-rich fighter that it is today.

The winding down of new content delivery this year signals that a sequel could be in the works - an exclusive that Xbox One desperately needs - but there's no rush - mastering the blisteringly-fast combos, Ultra Enders and unique qualities of all 29 characters will keep even the most hardcore genre fans satiated for a while as yet.

By all means, try, but you won't find another developer in the genre as dedicated to perfecting its craft as Iron Galaxy.
