7. Black Project - San Andreas

GTA is a jack of many traits and a master of some, but one mechanic Rockstar never nailed was stealth. From CJ pulling off one-stab kills in San Andreas, to GTA V's sporadic usage of crouch-walking, you could never tell if you were supposed to be playing that way or not.

For Black Project though, it remains the one standout mission where you - completely randomly - have to infiltrate GTA's version of Area 51, named Area 69 (because of course it is).

Not only that, but it'll almost immediately dawn on you how absolutely ridiculous the whole premise is. A gangbanger from Grove Street attempting to steal some top secret project from right under the Government's nose? Either this cemented GTA's cooky, 'anything goes!' tone, or it marked the turning point where Rockstar went too far, and what GTA IV was a response to.

And as for the jetpack? It's either the coolest thing ever, or the biggest cause of forehead slapping this side of GTA Online's microtransactions.
