11 Cancelled Superhero Games That Would Have Been Amazing
9. Ghost Rider
Originally in development for Sony's first Playstation, Neversoft's Ghost Rider was intended to be a side-scrolling action game inspired by the likes of Castlevania.
While it might not sound like the gaming world missed much by never getting a chance to play that generic game though, what's interesting about Ghost Rider for the PS1 was that, despite taking place in a 2.5D setting, players would have had the ability to rotate the screen on its axis to solve puzzles.
Allowing gamers to traverse a 3D environment from a 2D perspective long before the likes of Fez considered doing the same thing, the title could have been an entirely new step forward in two-dimensional design, potentially ushering in an evolution for Metroidvania games.
