11 Improvements We Must See For Call Of Duty 2016

9. Optimised Split-Screen

Considering the fiasco that Halo 5: Guardians recently had with its lack of split-screen multiplayer, it's a major coup that BO3 does support the local mode, allowing players to tackle the campaign with a buddy and also take the fight online. However, it's still evident that Activision consider split-screen to be an archaic afterthought, as the split-screen experience is something of a mixed bag. For one, the screen is harangued by black bars at each side, which is especially infuriating if you're playing on a huge TV, and secondly, the overall visual fidelity just isn't there. Textures are toned down compared to the solo experience, the framedrop will often drop far below 60FPS, text can't be read for the most part, and the mode has caused crashes for many players. Yes, we're glad it's still in there, but it feels like a thoroughly bare bones experience, the absolute minimum effort and resources having been committed to getting it into the game.
