11 Influential Video Games That Have Aged Horribly

1. Crysis

At time of release, Crysis was everywhere.

Its name quickly became synonymous with cutting-edge visuals and gameplay, and was hailed as the beginning of the end for all other shooters.

While that strange prophecy never came true, it did spur other developers on, leading to the landscape of video games taking something of a leap forwards, and whether you were a fan of Crysis or not, we all owe something to the unprecedented amount of hype around the 2007 FPS.

However, despite its graphical prestige, Crysis simply doesn't play as well today. Even from the remaster, there are AI issues and gameplay mechanics that just feel outdated and overplayed.

Good-looking or not, games have come a long way since Crysis was released, and most of those are much more than skin deep.

It's a shame, because Crysis' remaster should have been a cause for much celebration, but instead it left many players simply scratching their heads at how old it made them feel.
