11 Things We Learned From Tokyo Game Show 2016

1. World Of Final Fantasy Is All Kinds Of Perfect

Yup, okay, calling it - 2016 is the year Square finally get Final Fantasy's reputation back to where it should be. Not only is FF XV looking spectacular, but new spin-off 'World of Final Fantasy' is taking an almost Kingdom Hearts-esque approach, mashing together all your favourite entries in the series into one giant cross-promotional adventure.

Playing as a pair of humanoid characters, you're referred to as 'giants' as the casts from all other games are shown as tiny, Chibi versions of their original selves. The trailer introduces us to diddy versions of FF XIII's Snow, FF IX's Eiko, as well as a number of cuddly summons including formerly-intimidating beasts like Ifrit, Shiva and Bahamut.

Combat looks to be turn-based, and as you can imagine, fan-favourite entry Final Fantasy VII will also be included - although it's yet to make an appearance. Imagine your childhood dream-team of Cloud, Squall and Zidane, all combining to fight the forces of evil, then make it super self-aware with solid writing poking fun at the franchise overall.

Pretty neat, no? Bring.this.ON.
