11 Types Of Players Everyone HATES In Multiplayer Video Games

10. The Spammer

Battlefield Camping Sniper
Capcom

Hadouken! Hadouken! Hadouken! Hadouken!

If it works, why change a damn thing, right? Sometimes it takes dirty tactics to win - and if button-mashing a cheat code into your controller isn't going to get you a gold trophy, maybe playing an impossible to counter move is your jam?

The Spammer is an entry-level player who is getting to grips with what they know. Their actions are forgivable (which is why they're so low on this list) because they haven't broken the seal of creativity and skill yet. They know one move, one trick, one ability, and they will repeatedly use it until their fingers bleed.

Picture them like a child who has just learned a word, or how to tie their shoe laces, and insists on showing all seven billion people in the world their unique ability. It's quite endearing, really.

Where The Spammer becomes hated is when they discover that their unbeatable efforts are wearing thin on other people, and they refuse to change. Not dissimilar to a certain archetype that will come up later in this article, The Spammer has to recognize their hubris soon, or risk losing gaming friendships on account of their incompatibility to play well with others.

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
