10. Sonic Resistance (Project Sonic 2017)

2017 is set to be Year of the Hedgehog. Granted, the vast majority of his games across the last decade and a half have been total toss - save for Sonic Generations - but with Sonic Mania aiming to rekindle the original trilogy by having Sega recruit fan-modder Christian Whitehead, their bigger budget offering is mostly shrouded in secrecy.

Named 'Project Sonic 2017', Team Sonic appear to be tapping back into the Generations mindset by teaming 'modern Sonic' (the long-limbed version from circa 2006-onwards) with that of the original, both running next to each other in some ultra-serious, post-apocalyptic setting.

Whilst Sonic Mania looks phenomenally solid from top to bottom, I have to prompt the immortal question: Can Sonic ever truly work in 3D? Let us know in the comments.
