11 Video Games That Are Better If You Suck

4. Sifu

Death Stranding
Sloclap

Sifu begins with five criminals breaking into a martial arts school and killing everyone, including the head teacher. Playing as the mentor's child, you must track down the murderous quintet to avenge your father. To aid you in your quest, you use a talisman which automatically revives you if you're killed.

But there's a catch. Every time you come back to life, you age slightly. Dying the first time adds a year, dying a second time adds two years, etc. Even though you are 20 in the opening level, you will be in your 70s after perishing for the tenth time.

Because of this unique mechanic, the gameplay is slightly different upon each resurrection. Every time you cross over to a new decade, your maximum health diminishes. But to balance it out, you will obtain a new power. Depending on how many experience points you accumulated in your playthrough, you can unlock new moves or boons upon each death.

You know the famous philosophy, "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger?" Well, in Sifu, it's the other way around. Embrace death when it comes since it'll help you unlock the tools you need to emerge victorious.
