11 Video Games That Have Already Been Delayed In 2021
5. Prince Of Persia: Sands Of Time Remake
If there's one game everyone will be secretly happy is getting delayed, it's Ubisoft's Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake. Fans have been clamouring for a return to the iconic platforming franchise for a decade, and when rumours started swirling of a remake in the works, it sounded like a surefire hit.
Then everyone saw it.
The reveal trailer made it abundantly obvious that this wasn't any kind of lavish remake with cutting-edge production values or major overhauls to the original title. Instead, it was more akin to a regular remaster, with character models, animations and textures that looked somewhere between the PS2 originals and modern PS5 releases.
It's hard to blame the developers for this though, as the trouble with the game's reveal wasn't necessarily in the work on display. It's just that the likes of Resident Evil 2 and Crash N. Sane Trilogy raised expectations for what a full-price remake should look and play like, and PoP was never intended to be at that level.
After feedback rolled in from fans, the game was already delayed once to March 2021, but then in February was delayed indefinitely to allow the developers the chance to work more extensively on presumably more significant changes.
