The grandfather of Real-Time Strategy titles which aside from a re-release in the 17 title-strong Ultimate Edition in 2012, has since faded away a bit in 2014. All the same, chances are that if you're a 90's gamer you've at least sunk a few hours into one of the many instalments over the years thanks to finely-tuned controls and graphics that - especially at the time - were mind-blowing. For many this series was their first foray into managing swathes of multiple units at the same time, and although the genre has had fits and starts when it comes to being something that 'everyone' is playing, if it weren't for Command and Conquer getting everyone into the genre in some manner, things like DotA 2 wouldn't be the currently-televised behemoth it is today.
