11 Video Games You'll Buy No Matter What

5. The Legend Of Zelda

The Zelda series has a rich legacy that dates way back to 1986. For every generation of Nintendo hardware, there's been a Zelda game to perfectly demonstrate what it's capable of. If there's one thing that Wii U needs, it's that. Thankfully, early footage of the game looks very promising indeed. The new Zelda will have an emphasis on exploration, with Shigeru Miyamoto stating that it's likely gamers will get distracted by side missions while making their way to the next dungeon. It seems to be a much-needed evolution of the series' tried and true formula that has started to grow a bit stale. The recent 3DS game A Link Between Worlds also broke away from Zelda traditions and was a much more interesting game as a result, allowing players to purchase weapons and choose the order which they tackled dungeons in. On top of that, combat looks much more cinematic this time round, with Link being able to jump off his faithful steed Epona, slow down time and land some headshots with his bow before his feet even touch the ground. And of course, it looks absolutely stunning with an impressive draw-distance that Nintendo engineers must have used black magic to achieve. It just goes to show that you don't need top-of-the-line hardware to achieve beautiful graphics.

When I'm not playing games, I'm probably either writing about them somewhere or singing stupid songs inspired by them. Or eating pizza.
