11 Ways Monolith Should Have Made Shadow Of War
10. Stealth Shouldn't Be Forced
The stealth in Shadow of War is basic, but that doesn't make it bad. In fact, it can be quite satisfying to sneak up on orcs and shank them from behind, chaining together kills and moving through areas undetected.
It's when the system is forced during missions that it becomes a problem. With enemies not being smart enough to make getting the drop on them fun, and with the sneaking itself nowhere near as complex as other games, moments during the campaign where you're forced to stealth your way through linear sections fail miserably.
Stealth should be a larger part of the player's arsenal rather than pushed on them at every opportunity, and it should fit in with a larger, multi-tiered approach to level design rather than being the beginning and end of missions.
