One for the people who like their works of fiction to be more interpretive and less direct, Journey puts you in the shoes of a small wandering soul seemingly lost in a vast, lushly-detailed desert, replete with ancient monuments and otherwordly creatures to interact with. Said interaction is done only through the use of a button that lets you emit a chime-like noise, yet this will become your source of communication, rather like Hector Salamanca's bell in Breaking Bad. Being that you're exploring the world with another wandering soul by your side, should you come across something aesthetically beautiful, or just want to attempt a form of communication to your no-named compadré, hammer away on that chime button. It creates a seamless sense of interaction where you'll go on this unique adventure with an anonymous cohort, only finding out their real name (or online handle) should you both make it through to the end. There's a wealth of religious imagery and symbolism that can be read into, or you can just relax and play the game knowing you and a potential future-friend are sharing a unique experience together. Definitely one for the more philosophically-minded out there, or any mushy couples who want to play offline as they bundle themselves up on a couch to get lost in a truly gorgeous world.
