12 Great Video Game Characters Who Deserve A Comeback

The Timesplitters games were incredibly fun first person shooters with a terrific premise for a video game. An alien race would use crystals to travel back in time to change the course of history, thus bringing the human race to ruin. This allowed the game to be set across multiple locations and moments in time.

Although the first game was more well known for its multiplayer, Sergeant Cortez quickly won fans over in the next two instalments. Despite his tough and intimidating demeanour, Cortez had an optimistic approach to his missions and a witty sense of humour, which was a perfect match for the games overall tone and comic-book art style.

But after original developers, Free Radical Design, went into administration, Crytek took over development of the games fourth instalment. Unfortunately, were not sure the game would sell well with Cortez as its main character and put production on hold. This was certainly a low blow for a character fans believed had the charisma needed to make the game successful.

With some the games original developers and fans working together to make Timesplitters 4 a reality, Sergeant Cortez has proven he deserves to make a return by popular demand.
