10. Oblivion - Anti-Gravity Paintbrushes
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-60UmK9Id0 In the transition from Morrowind to its sequel, Oblivion saw a number of vast changes to the setting. Along with Cyrodiil being completely transformed from all previous lore, the game saw major fixes for balance issues being corrected and the improved graphics; yet for all this no one could have foreseen paintbrushes would become the single most valuable commodities in all of Tamriel. Cheap, apparently useless and with no way of healing, enhancing or being used as a weapon by the player, it nevertheless soon proved to be a vital item thanks to one small problem: it was weightless. Pick one up and let it go in the air and the brush would just hang there, effectively immovable and capable of bearing the player's weight, fans then discovered it could be used to bypass all sorts of obstacles. From walls to bottomless pits, treetops and rooftops, they proved to be excellent stepping stones for explorers and snipers alike, with others using them as walls to block the path of monsters. Suffice to say suddenly certain dungeons could be completed in mere minutes rather than hours with the right approach. Oblivion wasn't the end of this either. Apparently Obsidian Softworks either learnt nothing or took a liking to this particular glitch as it promptly showed up again in Fallout: New Vegas, in the form of complimentary vouchers. Admittedly in that game bunkers and sniper nests were not quite so invincible in the face of grenades and assault rifles.
