12 Most Hotly Anticipated Original Gaming Properties Of 2014

9. Raven's Cry

If Assassin's Creed 4 proved anything, it's that the particular franchise isn't dead yet, and that there is a market out there for adult oriented, pirate themed stories and worlds to explore. Raven's Cry is an original IP banking on those that loved Assassin's Creed 4 to take a shot in the dark for more swashbuckling action. There is no hyperbole here; the games are nearly identical. They're both 3rd person perspective action adventures featuring the same exact formula for melee combat; the only difference is that here your character loses a hand early on, which is then replaced with a stereotypical hook for you to execute enemies with. There is also a notoriety system in place - which will probably work exactly like Assassin's Creed - but Raven's Cry also promises RPG elements, which will probably make or break the game in separating itself from being a clone to a far superior game. Despite their similarities - Ubisoft could probably make a great case for plagiarism against this game - it's awesome that some interesting pirating themed games are being put into production.
