12 Major Video Game Sequels That Must Be Announced In 2016
3. Mark Of The Ninja 2
One of the best 2D side-scrolling games of all time, Klei Entertainment's Mark of the Ninja is the little game that did; proving stealth gameplay can work in a side-on framework. Not only did it work though, but its beautiful sense of playability essentially felt like you were playing an ultra-gory Saturday morning cartoon, stringing up guards with wires, hopping between shadows and being a super-sleuthing badass 24/7. All of this combined to create a game that even after its substantial runtime, had you begging for additional content. The only thing we got (as Klei are only a small studio) was an insightful developer's commentary, and then... nothing. The team ended up jumping between various titles, right now continuing to expand the brilliant Don't Starve series - but it's MOTN that remains a standout highlight. The game engine they built just oozes replayability, with levels that feature branching paths and encourage experimentation through the constant unlocking of new abilities. By game's end you'll be teleporting around in a blur of shurikens and smoke bombs, the only thing denoting your passing being the slitted throats of your many enemies - yes, it's as awesome as that sounds, and then some.
