12 Most Bizarre Boss Battles In Video Game History
6. Monster Mega Smith - The Matrix: Path Of Neo
Ahhh, the Matrix. It all just went a bit haywire in the end, didn't it? The sequels got all tangled up in prophecies and Messiahs and all kinds of guff that people just didn't care for as much as the nice, concise premise of the original movie. Path Of Neo pretty much smashes the plots of the second and third movies together into one mega-plot. But if you've gone through the ordeal of watching both of those, then you'll be surprised at the bonkers and frankly awesome fourth-wall twist at the end of this game. After you defeat Agent Smith in a replica of the airborne battle at the end of Matrix: Revolutions, you get transported to the trademark White Space of the Matrix, in which two basic pixel-graphic dudes voiced by the Wachowskis appear in a pair of leather chairs. They start talking directly to you, acknowledging that the finale of the Matrix trilogy sucked (ok, they say it sucks to have 'in a game', but we know what they really mean), and that for the purposes of the game, the Smith clones should join together to morph into a giant robotic 'Monster Mega Smith'. Hell yes, they should! Once the Smithatron rises up over the skyscrapers of the city, he puts on a conveniently-placed pair of giant sunglasses that just happen to be on a billboard within reach of his metallic arm - because Smith without his shades is no Smith at all. Once the fight is over, the game cuts awkwardly to a scene from the end of The Matrix: Revolutions movie, with the people of Zion celebrating your victory accompanied by 'We Are The Champions' by Queen. Now, why didn't they just run with this whole sequence for the actual movie? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J1XhcSyVr-A
