6. No Man’s Sky - A Rollercoaster Of A Redemption Story
It can sometimes be very hard for a developer to control the hype surrounding their next big game and that was certainly the case for Hello Games when they were promoting their procedurally generated open world universe, No Man’s Sky.
The game had amassed an insane amount of hype thanks to the founder of Hello Games Sean Murray attending multiple interviews and conventions to promote it and talk about its numerous features. But sadly, when the game was finally released, fans felt cheated as it contained many bugs, technical issues and was missing many promised features.
Under usual circumstances, this would lead to the game falling into irrelevance and its developer's reputation being tarnished forever. But Hello Games decided to just get their heads down and start making good on their promises. And now, over four years after its launch and many updates later, No Man’s Sky is a completely different game with all new features, aliens, spaceships and even full VR support.
Gamers everywhere will be hoping that developers can learn from the examples made by Hello Games and put more grime and effort to support their games and make sure they meet fans expectations.
