3. The Last Guardian Has Been Very Subtly Upgraded

Next up on the 'destined to disappoint' list for some, The Last Guardian is dropping in December after 10 years in development. Naturally, that's resulted in a number of people ascribing a level of quality to proceedings ("If they worked on it that long, it HAS to be phenomenal!") but the sad reality is probably going to be that until 2015, The Last Guardian had spent its days resigned to a 'work in progress' folder.

It's telling that the 2015 iteration looked nigh-on identical to that of 2009 when it was shown last, but in just the time in between then and now, TLG has finally been given a new-age lick of paint. You just have to know where to look:

Yes it's more subtle than XCOM 2's upcoming release on consoles, but this marks the first time we've seen some actual forward momentum on the title in literal years.

Will it disappoint in the end? For some, inevitably, but for the rest of us who can try and imagine this as a PS3 game given a new lease of life, it should come together nicely.
