12 Nintendo Switch Exclusives - Ranked From Worst To Best
1. The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild
The "problem" with a console launching with one of the best games of all time in its stead? Nothing in the remaining cycle has any real chance of making a dent. It was the case back on the SNES when Nintendo released Super Mario World, and it's true now.
Breath of the Wild is so stupidly good it's not even funny. Its world detail, marriage of sublime third-person action controls, depth of lore and even graphical capabilities are second to none. It is nothing short of the finest action game on the system, with an approach to open-world design that redefines the very way we explore the genre.
Rather than have an endless list of collectibles and stats to grind, BotW lets you head straight to the final fight as soon as you like. It's in perfecting your abilities by exploring Hyrule that you only become a stronger and better hero - a sensation that's just as much through gameplay as it is the lore of Hyrule itself.
Basically, YOU as a player will know you're ready to save the kingdom, and that's one hell of a powerful realisation. Mario and Splatoon may get a great many things right, but Zelda nails everything and then some.
