12 Notoriously Difficult Video Game Achievements Nobody Unlocked

5. Tactical Challenger - Vanquish

One of the most overlooked video games of the last generation, Vanquish pushed for kinetic first-person shooting at a time where the industry was still in love with the stop-and-pop style of Gears of War.

Revelling in increased mobility and over-the-top shooting, the title had a bunch of challenge modes for players to test their new-found skills. Unfortunately, even finishing the game on its hardest difficulty wouldn't prepare you with the reflexes needed to take on these side missions.

While the majority of the stages in this mode could be tackled relatively confidently, the sixth and final round is considered one of the biggest gaming challenges there is, up their with beating a Super Meat Boy level without being hit or completing the Mile High Club with only a pistol.

It's essentially only a wave defence mode, tasking you with staying alive and fending off a set amount of enemies, but boy are you wholly under-equipped for the onslaught of this final stage.
