12 Stunning Video Game Locations You Must Visit Before You Die

12. High Hrothgar - Skyrim

For the most part, Skyrim is a bit of a frozen backwater. Yes, it'd be nice to go to for a winter break if you slapped a few gondolas and chalets up there, but what would you do up there without skiing facilities, except get drunk in a tavern with some Nords and probably get your head caved in when you get up on the table, pull down your pants and do an ill-judged Imperial salute? Or, if you want to do something more useful with your time in Skyrim, you should climb its highest mountain, and check out the views from High Hrothgar. On a clear day, you can see across most of the land, even to the point where the world stops rendering and is just a grey blank mass (you can just pretend it's fog for immersion's sake). If you want to be a truly naff tourist about it, then your trip won't be complete without standing on the little walkway overlooking the world and shouting "Fus-Ro-Dah!" at the top of your voice.
