12 Things You Didn't Know About Batman: Arkham Asylum
8. Joker's Monster Form Was Originally Even More Gruesome
One of the only major missteps in Arkham Asylum comes right at the end, when the Joker injects himself with the Titan mutation and transforms into a hulking, mohawk-having monster.
It's very clearly only there so the developers could put an end boss into a video game, but it's entirely out of character for the Clown Prince of Crime to revert to brute strength to beat the bat and, generally speaking, the design Rocksteady went with just looks a bit dumb.
The concept in general was always going to be a wonky move, but a scrapped design might have made the ending more palatable the devs had stuck with it. This version of the Titan Joker was envisioned as being much more spider-like, and instead of bulking out like Bane, the villain would have retained his slim figure, with his limbs extending to unnatural lengths.
He also didn't have that mohawk, which is an instant win in itself.
