12 Times Movies Got Video Games Wrong

5. Josh Gad Doesn't Get Galaga - Pixels

Adam Sandler strikes again, in this video game-centric yet painfully obnoxious film about an alien race attacking humanity in the form of iconic video game antagonists.

In one sequence, Pac-Man champion Sam (Sandler) pays a visit to his old pal Ludlow (Josh Gad), who mentions that a military base was attacked by Galaga, while pointing to a picture of the iconic white ship piloted by the player during the classic arcade shooter.

However, Ludlow is mistaken - the hero ship is actually called the "Gyaraga" and did not attack the base. The ship he's referring to is the Boss Galaga, which is green in appearance.

If you really needed any more proof that Pixels was a soulless product trying to cash in on 80s nostalgia - rather than serve as a heart-on-sleeve tribute to it - here it is.
