12 Upcoming Video Game Sequels Nobody Asked For

1. Tekken X Street Fighter

The Pitch: A crossover fighting game which brings the best fighters from the worlds of Tekken and Street Fighter together, using Namco's Tekken engine. Why Nobody Asked For It: Because the first game, Street Fighter X Tekken, has pretty much already done the job. Sure, the difference is that it used the 2D style of the Street Fighter series instead, but do Namco really expect people to pay twice just to see the engine swapped around? Outside of the hardcore fighting fanbase, this just isn't very realistic, and the fact that Street Fighter X Tekken itself didn't sell very well at all (despite mostly positive reviews) is further evidence that people just don't care about this crossover, and certainly won't throw down more cash for a different engine. Finally, given that the first game hit stores two-and-a-half years ago, it's safe to say that the boat has really sailed on drumming up interest for the follow-up. Developers need to strike when the iron is hot, yet in this case, even at its peak it was only luke-warm, and now it's totally ice-cold. Can you think of any other ridiculous upcoming sequels that nobody asked for? Sound off in the comments!
