12 Upcoming Video Games That Might Be Surprisingly Awesome

1. Anthem

There's no question that Anthem's going to sell like hotcakes next year, but will it actually be any good? Its two E3 showings to date sadly haven't inspired much confidence that it'll be anything more than a me-too Destiny clone, and with the release date being just 8 months away, it really feels like EA should have so much more to show.

What's interesting, however, is that press who've been lucky enough to have hands-on play with the game have come away largely convinced. Even sceptical members of the press have found Anthem a joy to play, with comparisons to a squad-based Iron Man game certainly rousing some added interest.

It's probably worth waiting for reviews to drop before committing your cash, especially with the game's marketing being so suspiciously awful, but at least there are doubters already singing the game's praises. That's definitely significant.
