12 Most Useless Gaming Peripherals Ever

3. Game Boy Booster

The Game Boy revolutionised hand held gaming by allowing players to take games with them on the go, and it's chief virtues were that it was light, portable and relatively small. The Game Boy Booster took away all of the things that made the Game Boy great: if you wanted your Game Boy to be unwieldy, double the size and twice as heavy, then the Booster was definitely for you. It came fully armed with €œsuperior sound,€ which simply made the music and sound effects slightly louder but lowered the quality considerably, sort of like shouting into a traffic cone. It also added an easily breakable and cheap joystick to replace the d-pad and a magnifying glass that made the centre of the screen bigger, but warped the edges so much that they were incomprehensible. Add all that to the fact that this thing is just plain ugly and you have a recipe for disaster- and thus, as you may have guessed, it was a complete commercial failure.
