13 Criminally Underrated Marvel Superhero Video Games You Must Play
6. Spider-Man: Web Of Shadows
Weirdly enough, in the same vein as X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Spider-Man: Web of Shadows has become something of a cult hit in recent years. While it hasn't necessarily received the same level of popularity as that Wolverine game, there are many who would have you believe that Web of Shadows is one of the best Spider-Man games of all time.
And they're not entirely wrong.
Without a movie tie-in to worry about, Web of Shadows tells an entirely new story based around a symbiote invasion. While Venom as a villain in Spider-Man games has been done to death, this 2008 title implemented a rather interesting morality system that completely changed events of the narrative, depending on how much you relied on the sinister suit.
The combat and swinging is pretty much the same as the other Spidey games of the era (in that it's pretty decent, really), yet it's this core mechanic, as well as the freedom the game enjoys in playing with other elements of the Marvel universe, that really makes it all stand out as one of the web-head's best outings.
