13 More Horror Themed Video Games To Play On Halloween
3. Vampire: The Masquerade

If you're looking to completely immerse yourself in a world of darkness you've found the right game. Vampire: The Masquerade is World of Warcraft for goths and horror buffs alike. Based on a supernatural universe created by White Wolf, Vampire combines the genres of RPG and horror to create something truly amazing.
When a renegade vampire beds and sires you they break the masquerade - the law of vampire that states, among other things, that vampires cannot be known to humans. Your sire is executed and rather than meet the same fate your character is given the chance to learn the way of the creatures of the night. You'll venture the dark streets of Los Angeles making decisions that will ultimately decide your fate. While doing so you'll come across haunted hotels, mutated monstrosities, and a living gargoyle among other things! You must feed on humans - or rats - while being sure not to drain them entirely and fall one step closer to losing your humanity.
You'll play as one of seven clans of vampire. Each has different skills, flaws, and powers that will affect the way the game is played. For example, Nosferatu must use the sewers to travel as their grotesque appearance cannot be seen by humans. Gangrel are more likely to submit to frenzy - the animalistic rage one must fight when hungry - and Malkavians can use their insanity to gain insight into what other NPC's are thinking. Being able to play as one of seven different clans as well as a male or female - which does affect gameplay - gives Vampire: The Masquerade a vast amount of replay value. Throw in the fact that you can make a wide array of decisions including which groups to ally with and you have a game that can be played again and again without growing old.
If you love vampires or just having a damn good time then you'll want to pick up this game. It's perfect for Halloween. Everything that surrounds you is pure darkness and the game is littered with not only the sexiest of ghouls but ghosts, witches, werewolves, and even zombies! Be forewarned: this game is highly addictive and you'll be playing it well into Thanksgiving.
