11. The Burnout Franchise Is Resurrected

The Announcement: Thanks to the recent success of Burnout Paradise being made backwards compatible for the Xbox One, the much-loved racing franchise is being resurrected with a new AAA release.

How Likely Is It?: With Criterion's former Burnout creators forming Three Fields Entertainment and planning to release their Burnout-inspired crash-based arcade game Danger Zone in the coming weeks, it would actually make a lot of sense for Burnout to return to life, especially with the Need for Speed franchise currently on the skids and the lack of truly great multi-platform racing games out right now.

Mitigating factors, however, include EA confirming that another Need for Speed game is indeed in the works, reportedly due for release before next April, and it's unlikely that Three Fields Entertainment would have the capital to purchase the Burnout license from EA.

Still, weirder things have happened, and it's quite possible that Burnout Paradise's Xbox One success really did give EA second thoughts about binning the series off. Basically, it could go either way. 5/10
