13 Most WTF Gaming Industry Moments Of 2018

If 2017 was one of the strongest years for video games on record, 2018 didn't quite deliver the same boundary-pushing brilliance, even if it nevertheless served up some of the generation's best games to date.

For the most part, though, the year has been a pretty wild ride, defined by some of the more shocking and eyebrow-raising gaming industry moments, from unexpected studio closures to all-timer cringe moments, shock departures and, yes, perhaps the most embarrassing AAA console game launch of the entire generation.

The latter half of 2018 in particular saw a tidal wave of bizarre, often meme-worthy business decisions that alternately left gamers howling with laughter and/or face-palming.

A year ago, nobody could've seen these 13 headlines coming, and yet they've come to define exactly what gaming is in 2018.

Hopefully 2019 might at least remedy a few of these issues, and leave the industry as a whole looking a little healthier and more welcoming...
