12. Sony Decides To Skip E3 2019
Sony announced last month that they will be skipping next year's E3 for the first time in the event's 24-year history.
It was a major shock for gamers and, along with Sony giving their usual PSX conference a miss this year, likely emblematic of them being basically done with this generation of gaming.
Beyond a few remaining exclusive AAA titles - namely The Last of Us Part II, Ghost of Tsushima and Death Stranding - the move was interpreted as Sony gearing up for a PlayStation 5 reveal, most likely in early 2020.
Considering the E3 hype cycle is a hugely enjoyable - if often ultimately disappointing - time for gamers, it was a real shame to many, even if Sony clearly don't have a whole lot to show off.
