13 Tips, Tricks And Secrets To Boost Your PC Gaming Performance

10. Tweak Graphics In AMD Control Center Or Nvidia Control Panel

If you fancy yourself as a bit of a graphics tinkerer, and like the idea of fine-tuning your games with a more human touch, then you should dig around in AMD Control Center or Nvidia Control Panel - both of which offer finer control over graphics than the previous method. In AMD Catalyst, you can find these under Gaming > 3D Application Settings. In the Nvidia Control Panel, hit up the Manage 3D Settings Menu. It helps if you know a bit about what the different graphics settings do before getting too experimental. However, once you've learned the ropes you may find you get better performance and graphics than you did from tweaking the in-game settings. For example, enabling anti-aliasing within some games can cause the framerate to slow down drastically, while using one of the anti-aliasing methods in AMD Catalyst works much more effectively.
