2. Nolan North - Nathan Drake (Uncharted Series)
Confession time: I'm not the world's biggest Uncharted fan. That doesn't mean I can't appreciate some stellar voice acting though, and Nolan North's portrayal of Nathan Drake is suitably charming to behold, even if it does border on the clichéd at times. Drake is the embodiment of all of cinema's classic adventurers, and that works just fine considering the IP's focus on big, globetrotting escapades that revolve around historical artefacts. Because of this the treasure hunter has embarked on a multitude of adventures since he first debuted in 2007, so he's been able to accumulate quite the following over the years. This hasn't come from the strength of the series' gameplay alone however, but the charismatic nature of its cast, most notably North's rendition of Nathan Drake. The character's exasperated running commentary on action set-pieces is both humorous and relatable, which again, seems to be the hero's best trait. He may not have the most complex personality, but the lack of nuance is completely negated by the sharpness of the scripts on offer - Drake's retorts are always hilarious. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IOmPDvVz3MA Drake's status as one of the main icons of the PlayStation brand is largely indebted to Uncharted's writers, but North's perfect interpretation of the script has gone a long way in gaining such accolades. He's a fantastic protagonist acted brilliantly by one of the industry's biggest talents, so it's little wonder why he continues to endure nine years on from his first adventure.
