13. Paz Has A Bomb In Her...You Know - Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes
The Moment: As Snake escapes from Camp Omega in a chopper with rescued prisoners Paz and Chico, Chico realises that Paz has had a bomb surgically implanted in her abdomen. Snake manages to remove it, but after she regains consciousness, she reveals that Skull Face also placed another bomb in her nether-regions (or so it's implied). She bails out of the chopper just in time, exploding in mid-air but saving Snake and the other occupants. Why It's WTF: The Metal Gear Solid series has always prided itself on boasting edgy, mature content, but even for Hideo Kojima's standards, this was pretty gnarly stuff. Combined with the infamous "rape tape" players can discover during their time on Camp Omega, it caused some to consider whether Kojima had finally gone too far, or if such queasy sexual violence was really necessary? Even if you support the man's freedom of artistic expression, it's still possibly the franchise's most shocking moment to date.
