The Moment: In August, Nintendo introduced three Mercedez-Benz cars as free DLC: the GLA, the 1950s 300 SL Roadster and the 1930s Silver Arrow. To boot, through September there was also a special "Mercedes Cup" to celebrate the new content. Why It's WTF: Though Nintendo were good not to charge for this DLC, it does little to detract from the fact that real-life vehicles just stick out like a sore thumb in a fantastical Mario game. Sure, nobody's forcing anyone to actually use the cars, but why did Nintendo honestly think that anyone would actually like this? It's the blatant result of a business deal between the two companies, and gamers are the ones who have to put up with it. Given the numerous other DLCs and fixes fans were eager for...this is what they thought should come first?
