13. Thief
Alright, it's not necessarily a sequel, more of a reboot, but its still the same old game garbed in next-generation clothing as black as night itself. Last seen in 2004, Garret's back this time around armed with his trademark stealthy abilities and a focus on player choice, much like Dishonored. He's tasked with stealing and general thievery, using the shadows and hiding spots to his advantage as next-gen AI guards try to flush him out of obvious hiding spots and have a sense of awareness that we rarely see in stealth games. Early previews of this one seem quietly optimistic. It's certainly not that high on everyone's radar right now, but I'm excited to see Garret back and what he has to offer to the busy genre of stealth in gaming. Does the Thief have a place in the next-gen gaming landscape, or should this franchise should have stayed lost in the shadows?
