14 Most Disappointing Video Games Of 2018 (So Far)
2. Sea Of Thieves

Perhaps no game released this year has courted as much controversy as Rare's Sea of Thieves, which hedged its bets on players creating their own emergent co-op experiences on the high seas.
While the game certainly sings when played with pals and knowing randoms, the lack of a narrative, compelling quests or anything approaching a dynamic gameplay loop sadly prevent Sea of Thieves from being much more than a visually impressive, fitfully enjoyable disappointment.
It has its fans, and that's great, but the comparisons to 2016's No Man's Sky - that is, an ambitious project that fell short of expectations - aren't without merit, even if the ability to play it via Xbox Game Pass does admittedly soften the blow somewhat.
Still, considering the potential the game had, the fact it feels so bare bones after so long in development is utterly mind-boggling.
