8. Secret Of Mana

The much-anticipated Secret of Mana remake is the sort of game Steam refunds were made for: it doesn't take much playing to realise it's a lazily churned out cash-grab of a redo hoping to coast on nostalgia for the 1993 original.

For starters, the new 3D graphics are really quite hideous - resembling a mobile game more than you'll want to admit - while virtually no effort has been made to update the original game's jankier and more frustrating elements (namely wonky AI).

It's a soulless, cynical attempt to part Mana fans with their cash as fast as possible, but ultimately fails to justify its own existence beyond the obvious business reasons.
