7. State Of Decay 2

Though it's hard to get too mad about a game you can play for minimal cost as part of your Xbox Game Pass subscription, State of Decay 2 is an extremely rough, workmanlike follow-up to the (admittedly very flawed) 2013 cult survival horror game.

While SoD2 should be lauded for its ambitious attempt to one-up the original game's scale, ultimately it's fatally held back by a plethora of glitches and an over-familiar gameplay loop that often invites feelings of ennui.

Moments of tripwire tension do periodically abound, but their greatness is drowned out by the sheer amount of time you'll spend doing boring foraging, helping out dullard locals and basically just doing the same old yawn-inducing tasks over and over again.
