Considering how much the X-Men flicks helped establish the superhero genreas a reputable force in cinema, we've only seen a handful of games bearing the name that truly stand the test of time.

One of which is the X-Men Legends series, of which the latter, Rise of Apocalypse, would also be pretty apt for 2016 alongside Ultimate Alliance 2. It's weird, when you think on how the same developer created both these games 'out of time' in retrospect, yet remastersare nowhere to be seen when it matters most.

For another Legends game, it would have to delve into a wider storyline than just Apocalypse, being he's already been thwarted, unless they reboot and go from scratch again. Something like the recently-concluded Secret Wars has all manner of galaxy-spanning possibilities to take your favourite fighters, but time will tell when it comes to what X-branded video game we see next.
